Immigration - American Immigration and Integrity Act
"We should not cease to be hospitable to immigration, but we should cease to be careless as to the character of it." - Benjamin Harrison
No human is illegal, however uncontrolled immigration and illegal hiring hurt American workers, strain public services, and create opportunities for exploitation.
Under my presidency, I will pressure Congress to;
1. Secure Borders & Prioritize Safety
-
Reduce nonessential immigration temporarily while our current systems are fixed.
-
Focus strong enforcement on violent criminals, repeat offenders, and threats to public safety, not families or law-abiding immigrants.
- Law-abiding immigrants will be given 12-18 months to apply for citizenship through the basic route, failure to do so will result in deportation and potential lifetime ban from the country.
2. Paths to Citizenship You Can Trust
-
Multiple paths to citizenship:
-
military service
-
high-value careers (doctors, scientists, engineers, educators, etc can be 'fast-tracked through the basic route. 'High-value' is defined as fields where there are worker-shortages.)
-
basic route.
-
-
Citizenship cannot be “bought”, it must be earned through contribution and commitment to the country.
3. Education & Integration
-
Every applicant completes:
-
10-week Civics & Government course
-
10-week American Law course
-
10-week Financial Literacy course
-
Language proficiency (oral, written, interpretation)
-
-
This ensures new citizens are prepared, informed, and ready to contribute to their communities.
4. Employer Accountability
-
End illegal hiring by holding employers responsible:
-
Fines per undocumented immigrant employed
-
Back taxes and wage restitution for workers who were exploited
-
An extension of DACA - DACA+
DACA+ builds on the current Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. It continues to protect young immigrants brought to the U.S. as children while creating a permanent pathway to citizenship for those already eligible and for younger children under 16. My goal is simple: honor the contributions of young immigrants, ensure fairness, and provide stability for the families and communities they call home.
Under my presidency, I will pressure Congress to;
1. Preserve current DACA protections but increase the age from 16 to 18 (what is considered a 'legal' adult in the U.S)
-
DACA recipients continue to receive protection from deportation
- Work authorization and other benefits remain intact
- No disruption for those who rely on the program today
2. Retroactive citizenship pathway for existing DACA recipients
- All DACA recipients who are 18 or older will be given the opportunity to apply for permanent residency and eventually citizenship
- Eligibility Criteria;
- Must have been protected under DACA for at least two years
- Must have continuesly lived in the U.S
- No criminal record
- Basic identification and proof of DACA status
- Benefits;
- Permanent residency (green card)
- Eligibility for U.S. citizenship after meeting standard naturalization requirements
- Continued ability to work legally and contribute to society
3. Protections for children under 18
- Children not yet DACA+ eligible will be granted conditional protection status
- Protected from deportation while under the age of 18
